Marlboro Zippo lighter 1994- Adventure Team 'Lizard Rock'

This was a promotional gift item, from Marlboro during their promotional campaign including the Japanese tobacco's market. Named 'Adventure Team', this campaign started in 1992 to create awareness of their brand while attracting adults towards Marlboro tobacco products, accumulating points from each marked cigarette packs to earn gifts items from Adventure Team's catalogs at that time.

To say briefly. During this campaign, 10 lucky Marlboro consumers were given opportunities to experience the American country using rafts, dirt bikes, horse-backs as well as Jeeps. Hence this name, which became the theme in it's gifts catalogs.

Besides Zippo,Valuable items such as watches, tents, and Swiss Army Knifes were highly sought by smokers which they used points from cigarette packs to exchange for.

Made in limited quantities to designs specifications from this Tobacco company, it is again a quality piece which Zippo Mfg. had uniquely crafted.

Base Antique Silver finish with un-canned bottom, it is the first lighter casing encountered which has the designs & Brand logo sharply protruding above the surface in 3D form. Unlike typical casings which have been deeply engraved, these patterns weren't made using embossing process seen in recent Zippo designs either. Hence the method Zippo Mfg. used to produce such, remains mystical. .
